How to Help
Do you enjoy the Whitchurch Meadow? Do you want to help it to continue to thrive in the future? Become a Friend of the Meadow.
Do you have some spare energy or would like to loose some weight? Help us to dig out cultivate patches for wildflowers with fellow volunteers. Some work and then tea or coffee..
Are you interested in local history? Help us to recreate what the Meadow looked like 300 years ago, how it worked and what benefits it gave to the local community.
Are you a parent and would like to introduce your kids to science? Our surveys are great fun for all the whole family. We have colourful educational material and our water monitoring program is always popular with the kids.
Are you a nature lover? Join our surveys! Help us to build up our unique monitoring data. You can dip the ponds, look for lichens, dig for earthworms and, most importantly, record your data on our website. Do it alone or do it with others, the choice is yours, all records are precious!
Are you a bird-watcher? Help us to develop and carry a regular bird-watching survey!
Are you a teacher? Help us to link our educational material to the National Curriculum. We would like to establish better links with schools and turn the Meadow into a great educational resource.
Are you a computer geek? Help us to develop interactive elements on our website page for science. We would like to have an interactive map of Whitchurch and ability to enter and visualise our measurements online.
Are you a scientist? Help us to develop and maintain our monitoring programs.
Are you a keen photographer? Join our photographic competition.
Are you an art enthusiast? We would like to see more of “Art on the Meadow” in any form or shape. Special seats need to be inspired.
You can make a long lasting contribution to the meadow by sponsoring a tree, a special seat or helping buy equipment and tools.
